Location: Bryan’s Heritage Park, 600 South Hutchins, Bryan, TX 77803

Description:

This sculpture was dedicated in honor of Emile Schirk, a French immigrant and widow who kept her ten children warm and fed through the Great Depression and WWII with great personal sacrifice. In the hardest of times she worked extra jobs and even traded her wedding band for a sack of flour. 

This bronze grouping given by Margueritte [Schirk] Gardner, completed by Russell Cushman, in cooperation with the City of Bryan Park and Recreation Department, David Schmitz, Division Manager.
