Week 1 AM (6/2-6/7): Paint Like Renoir with Lorie Suter; Ages 6-12

Step into the world of Impressionism as you learn to paint like the renowned artist, Pierre-Auguste Renoir! In this camp, students will view authentic Renoir prints and discover how he captured the beauty of everyday life by observing his surroundings. Through hands-on lessons, students will sketch out their own still life and paint it using the same techniques Renoir employed, gaining insight into his creative process and mastery of color and light.

Week 1 PM (6/2-6/7): Paper Doll Sculpture with Lorie Suter; Ages 9-15

Unleash your creativity in this unique camp where students will learn to create their very own paper doll sculptures using newspaper. This isn’t your typical doll-making class—students will have the freedom to design characters ranging from surfers and warriors to superheroes and beyond. The possibilities are endless as you bring your imagination to life through the art of paper sculpture!

Week 2 AM (6/9-6/13): Cellphone Storytelling with Josie Sheil; Ages 12-16

Discover the art of capturing the world through a lens in this hands-on photography camp! Campers will dive into the history of photography and experiment with classic techniques like pinhole cameras and rayograms. They’ll explore portraiture, creative lighting, long exposure, and flash photography, all while learning to use manual settings and editing tools like Snapseed. From landscapes to forced perspective and video framing, this week offers a fun and educational deep-dive into both traditional and modern photography—all with just a smartphone and a creative eye!

Week 2 PM (6/9-6/13): Fluid Art with Josie Sheil; Ages 6-13

Get ready to explore the mesmerizing world of fluid art! Throughout the week, young artists will experiment with a variety of vibrant and dynamic techniques, including acrylic pouring, Zentangle designs, tie-dye, oil droplet art, and marbling with water and shaving cream. Campers will learn about color flow, texture, and even sustainability during a creative ice-dye session. Each day offers a new hands-on project, with take-home creations like coasters, canvases, and wearable art. Let your imagination flow!

Week 3 AM (6/16-6/20): Color Theory for Beginners with Kaile Cantu; Ages 6-13

Get ready to explore the vibrant world of color! In this beginner-friendly camp, young artists will learn the basics of primary, secondary, and tertiary colors while building their own reference color wheels. Campers will dive into different color schemes each day—monochromatic, complementary, triadic, and analogous—through fun, hands-on projects like ice cream cones, cupcakes, ladybugs, and mandalas. With a mix of creative painting exercises and palette-building activities, this camp helps kids understand how color works and how to use it artistically across multiple mediums.

Week 3 PM (6/16-6/20): Beauty of the Garden with Kaile Cantu; Ages 6-13

Celebrate the wonders of nature in this creative, garden-inspired art camp! Each day, campers will explore the beauty of flowers, leaves, and insects through hands-on crafts like flower collages, painted pots, floral suncatchers, and pipe cleaner dragonflies. Kids will also get to plant their own seeds, paint rocks, and make unique garden markers and bookmarks. With a mix of painting, planting, and crafting, this camp brings the charm of the outdoors into every project—perfect for nature-loving young artists!

Week 4 AM (6/23-6/27): The Basics of Hand Sewing with Kaile Cantu; Ages 9-15

Perfect for beginners, this hands-on sewing camp teaches kids the essential skills they need to start creating with needle and thread! Campers will learn foundational stitches like running, back, ladder, and blanket stitches while completing fun and functional projects each day. From sewing a heart and adding buttons to crafting adorable items like a pencil case, coin purse, and owl softie, students will build confidence and creativity with every stitch. No prior experience needed—just bring your enthusiasm!

Week 4 PM (6/23/6/27): Unique Color Design with Kaile Cantu; Ages 9-15

Explore the power of color in this creative camp designed to boost artistic confidence and experimentation! Campers will review the basics of color theory while learning how to shade, outline, and build dynamic color palettes. Throughout the week, they’ll complete a multi-canvas project that showcases different color schemes—standard, warm, cool, and uniquely their own. With guided exercises and personal expression, this camp inspires students to see color in a whole new way!

Week 5 AM (7/7-7/11): Painting Eras with Kelsey Boe; Ages 6-12

Travel through time and explore iconic art movements in this hands-on painting camp! Each day focuses on one or two influential eras—from Rococo and Romanticism to Surrealism and Pop Art. Campers will learn about famous artists like Monet, Kandinsky, and Warhol while experimenting with a variety of materials and styles. Through guided projects in gouache, oil pastel, watercolor, and more, young artists will build their skills and creative confidence—while making art inspired by the masters of history.

Week 5 PM (7/7-7/11): Summer Beach Vibes with Ginna Schoppe; Ages 6-12

Get ready to ride the creative waves in this beach-themed art camp! Campers will dive into ocean-inspired projects all week long—from painting sea turtles and designing wooden beach signs to crafting whimsical shell creatures and colorful popsicle stick frames. They’ll explore different materials like bubble wrap, jute, shells, and even sand! On the final day, we’ll cool off with a splash-tastic water play session outside—so don’t forget a towel and sunscreen! Perfect for young artists who love sunshine, creativity, and summer fun.

Week 6 AM (7/14-7/18): Calligram Portraits with Lorie Suter; Ages 12-17

A calligram is a style of art where words are used to create a design or layout of a visual image. Pull out your journal, the lyrics of your favorite song, your favorite book, or even the script of your favorite movie. Bring a photo of whoever you would like to draw and we will replicate that person without ever using a line, using the words of your choosing.

Week 6 PM (7/14-7/18): Famous Artists with Ginna Schoppe; Ages 8-14

Step into the world of legendary artists in this vibrant four-day camp! Each session begins with a fun and age-appropriate look at the lives and work of greats like Michelangelo, Monet, Picasso, Van Gogh, and Pollock. Campers will explore their unique styles through hands-on art projects—painting Sistine Chapel-inspired ceilings, crafting abstract portraits on cardboard, designing colorful rice mosaics, and unleashing their creativity with messy Pollock-style splatter art. It’s a whirlwind art history adventure that brings the masters to life!

Week 7 AM (7/21-7/25): Sculpture 101 with Kelsey Boe; Ages 8-14

Get your hands messy and your imagination moving in this exciting introduction to the world of sculpture! Campers will explore a variety of sculpting techniques using air-dry clay, wire, foil, and papier-mâché. Inspired by famous artists like Alexander Calder, each day includes two fun and creative projects that build artistic skills and confidence. From whimsical clay creatures to expressive foil and wire forms, kids will shape, paint, and construct their way through a week full of 3D art adventures!

Week 7 PM (7/21-7/25): Portrait Painting with Sara Jordan; Ages 12-17

Master the art of portraiture by learning tips and techniques for drawing facial proportions and creating realistic skin tones using both watercolor and acrylic paints. In this class, you’ll practice contour line drawing, study facial features through photos, and apply the grid method to achieve accurate proportions. You’ll create two portraits—one in watercolor and one in acrylic—while using various tools like graphite, gouache, and canvas. Whether you’re new to portrait painting or looking to refine your skills, this camp offers a fun, educational experience to bring your artistic vision to life!

Week 8 AM (4-day week)(7/28-7/31): Still Life Drawing with Hailey Cowan; Ages 10-15

Explore the world of still life through daily experiments with new mediums while working with the same setup. You’ll start by creating your own unique still life arrangement and use your imagination to bring it to life. Each day, you’ll experiment with a different medium—whether it’s graphite, charcoal, pastels, or ink—learning new techniques and approaches to capture the details and essence of everyday objects. This camp is perfect for students who want to refine their drawing skills and experiment with various artistic tools!

Week 8 PM (4-day week)(7/28-7/31): Crafts Around the World with Ginna Schoppe; Ages 6-13

Travel the globe through art in this fun, hands-on camp! Each day, campers will learn about a different country’s unique craft tradition, starting with the history of the craft and making the country’s flag. Create African tribal masks with beads and feathers, paint macaron ornaments and Eiffel Tower canvases from France, explore Indigenous dot art from Australia, design Canadian windsocks, and make panda or koi fish paintings from Japan. It’s an international adventure packed with creativity and cultural exploration!
