From Sea to Shining Sea

American landscape art is a style of painting that depicts the natural beauty of the United States, including its mountains, forests, rivers and plains. Starting in the early 19th century with idealized images of a vast, unspoiled wilderness, this exhibition takes you through the 20th century and across the continent. Artists in the exhibition include Thomas Hill, Thomas Hart Benton, Everett Spruce, Gerald Bywaters, and Currier & Ives.
