A Musical Exhibition | The Theatre Company of Bryan – College Station

The Theatre Company of Bryan – College Station (TTC) presents 35mm: A MUSICAL EXHIBITION, the first “Off the Menu” (OTM) production of Season 37, Because of Randy. Like other OTM shows, 35MM provides local audiences with the rare opportunity to experience live musical theatre performances of less widely recognized yet critically acclaimed and culturally significant musical theatre. TTC is proud to bring these productions to life in our community.

 

Featuring music and lyrics by the award-winning Ryan Scott Oliver and inspired by the internationally recognized photography of Matthew Murphy, this multimedia musical experience is based on “snapshot stories,” each woven into a song and a specific photographic moment. Each photo creates a song to produce a moment in time, a split second of a life unfolding. 35MM explores life’s important themes— love, death, memory, friendship, betrayal—presented in what many have hailed as a groundbreaking example of what modern American musicals can be.

 

The show opened Off-Broadway in 2012 and has played in theaters all over the world since then. An original cast album was also released in 2012. Reviewers praised its fusion of mediums and its innovative vision of multimedia theatre, as well as its depth and ability to move audiences deeply. Featuring an all-star cast of TTC voices and directed by Savannah Barrera and Keri Kempf, 35mm is not to be missed!
