Don Hellriegel – Jane Wolfe Distinguished Arts Leadership Award

Don Hellriegel and his family moved to the Bryan-College Station area in 1975. He accepted a position as Professor of Management in the May’s Business School at Texas A&M University. He retired as professor  emeritus.  During his career at TAMU, he served several terms as Head of the Department of Management, Executive Associate Dean of the Mays Business School and other positions. In the academic domain, he served in a variety of roles– several of which include elected as President of Academy of Management, elected as Dean of the Fellows Group of the Academy of Management, and selected to serve as Editor of the Academy of Management Review.

 

Currently, Don serves on the board of Brazos Valley Symphony Society and as its treasurer. He continues to serve on the College Station Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, one term as chair. He serves on the CS Fun For All Playground Committee—including Committee Chair and Co-Chair of two major fundraising events. He is a member of the CS Noon Lions Club and does some service activities through the club. 

 

In past years , he has served in a wide variety of other community service roles, several of which include: President of United Way of the Brazos Valley, member of two CS bond citizen advisory committees—one as Co-Chair, member of BCS Library Advisory Board, member of CS Impact Fee Advisory Committee, and board member of two different homeowner associations, one as president.
