Charles Doucet
Charles H. Doucet moved to the Brazos Valley area with his family from Houston back in the mid-90’s. Charles attended Junior High in College Station where he encountered Mr. MacKenzie teaching art classes. Charles credits him with getting him into art and fostering a mindset that anything can be art if you create it. While attending A&M Consolidated High School, Charles started doodling on 3×5 note cards, and that’s where he feels he started his style of free-form abstract art. Since those days in the early 2000’s, he has progressively continued honing his artwork, working on it off and on for about a decade. Since meeting his now wife, she has encouraged Charles to get more serious about his craft and he’s become very focused on continuing his artist journey. His goal now is to create a website where he can offer prints, original pieces, and commissions to anyone interested in his unique creations. As a completely self-taught artist, Charles enjoys experimenting with texture, color, medium, and technique. He really looks forward to sharing his work with anyone who is interested in seeing art that they’ve never seen before.

Artist Statement
Art has the unique ability to outlive its creator. It is a physical representation of where the artist was mentally and emotionally at the time it was created. I strive to create art that is visually striking and elicits an emotional response from the viewer. As it is important to chronicle our lives, I’ve come to look at my art as a non-linear journal for my wandering mind.
