TXUUJM Benefit Concert | Pride Community Center
A benefit for the Texas UU Justice Ministry will be held Friday, July 18th at UU Church of the Brazos Valley, 1719 E. 29th Street, Bryan, TX. This All Ages Show features Rev. Dan De Leon from Friends UCC in College Station, Rev. Kiya Heartwood from UU Church of the Brazos Valley, the UUCBV Love and Joy Gospel Choir, and headliner Parker Woodland. Doors at 6:30. Show begins at 7 pm.
Activist power trio Parker Woodland plays emotionally charged anthems for finding joy in the midst of a world on fire. The band returns to Bryan, TX, on a wave of momentum from There’s No Such Thing as Time, their debut full-length album, which hit #24 on Sub-Modern Albums chart, and grapples with issues like trans rights, climate chaos, and militarism while keeping hope alive with “major Go-Gos energy” (KUTX). Parker Woodland has recently played the large Hands Off Picnic at the Texas Capitol in Austin, and the band’s singer/bassist, Rev. Erin Walter, has been a guest in the UUCBV pulpit over her 10 years of ministry in Texas. The band is excited to support the Texas UU Justice MInistry and deepen their relationship with the Bryan/College Station music and activist communities.
Tickets are $10 per individual and $20 per family, suggested. Refreshments will be available. All proceeds go to the Texas Unitarian Universalist Justice Ministry.
