The Other Side of the Border – Ties that Bind and Issues that Divide

Please join us to hear the U.S. Border Patrol’s Matthew Roggow, Acting Chief Patrol Agent in the Big Bend Sector, share his experience in leadership including increasing border community liaison efforts.

Roggow will present “Security: America’s Border in Theory and Practice” as part of the The Other Side of the Border: Ties that Bind and Issues That Divide speaker series. As Acting Chief Patrol Agent of the Big Bend Sector, Matthew J. Roggow leads all Border Patrol enforcement operations in the 165,164 square mile region, including 517 miles of riverfront along the Rio Grande River. The Sector’s border boundary is almost one-quarter of the country’s southwest border. Roggow holds a distinguished career at the U.S. Border Patrol, where he has worked collaboratively with internal and external partners to deploy technology allowing for the covert observation of smuggling activities and increasing the prosecutions of targeted smuggling organizations.
