
Anne Black | Jane Wolfe Distinguished Arts Leadership Award
Anne Black came to Texas A&M University and MSC OPAS in 1984. She served three years as program coordinator before becoming executive director in 1987. Anne has more than 45 years’ experience in the non-profit arts sector, including work with arts councils, community theatres, state advisory committees and task forces. She is an active member of the Southwest Performing Arts Presenters, a five-state consortium of arts administrators, including two years as president. She is currently serving on the external relations committee.
Anne studied Theatre Arts at the University of Texas at Arlington. She is an advocate of arts education programs and has been a frequent workshop presenter and consultant on that topic. She is a member of the Association of Performing Arts Presenters (APAP), the International Society of Performing Arts Administrators (ISPAA) and the International Performing Arts Association for Youth (IPAAY), where she has been workshop presenter.
Anne is married to Ginn Black and has two daughters and eight grandsons and three great- grandsons. When not working and spending time with grandchildren, Anne loves to read and garden.
