Summer Art Camps

T he Arts Council is excited to host 9 weeks of summer camps for June - August 2020! These camps offer your child 5 days of educational and creative activities in our Arts Council classroom with a professional artist. Each week introduces a new theme and instructor. Snacks and supplies will be provided.

IMPORTANT: Before enrolling your child in our summer camps, we ask that you read the Summer Camp Operations Guide found below.

June 15-19: "USA Art Tour" Fine Arts Camp with Sara Jordan | 12:30pm-4pm

June 22-26: Fiber Arts Camp with Lisa Urban | 9am-12:30pm

June 29-July 2: Nature-inspired Fine Arts Camp with Apinya Srikhwanthong | 12:30pm-4pm

July 6-10: "Passport to Asian Art" Fine Arts Camp with Sara Jordan | 12:30pm-4pm

July 13-17: Art Around The World with Dr. Rose Santos | 9am-12:30pm

July 20-24: Paper Sculpture with Apinya Srikhwanthong | 12:30pm-4pm

July 27-31: Book Making and Paper Quilling with Ariel Kellogg | 9am-12:30pm

August 3-7: Art Around The World with Dr. Rose Santos | 9am-12:30pm

August 10-14: Whimsical Watercolors with Kelsey Boe | 9am-12:30pm

We are so proud of last years summer camp students! Students of all classes created such creative pieces. Thank you to Mark Martin, Dr. Rose Santos, and Navasota Artist in Residence, Rebecca Dias!

We hope our summer campers enjoyed the rest of their summer and continue to stay creative throughout the school year.

Affiliate Programs

Unity Theatre’s Summer Drama & Performance Camps are a great way for your child to have fun and experience the joy and magic of live theatre. Drama Camp is offered July 9-13 (grades 2-3) and July 16-20 (grades 4-6). Performance Camp is offered July 16-29 (grades 4-6) and July 9-29 (grades 7-12).

Studying science and history helps your children to know and understand the world around them. The Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History offers 10 weeks of Summer Nature from June 4 to August 17. Each session lasts one week, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Camp sessions are divided into age groups (4-5, 6-7, 8-9, 10-12).

Join the Navasota Theatre Alliance for their 9th year of comprehensive child and teen summer theatre camps. Campers will be immersed in all aspects of theatre arts including acting, lighting, sound, costuming and more! Youth camps are offered in two sessions: June 4-8 (grades 2-6) and July 9-20 (grades 7-12).

Children will be able to explore their creative side with one of the Children’s Museum of the Brazos Valley’s fantastic summer programs! Camps are offered in seven sessions for anywhere from Art Lab to Little Chefs. Camps begin May 29 and continue through August 17.
