Messina Hof's Wine Label Competition

Every year, Messina Hof Winery & Resort offers a competition for artists. The winner will have their artwork displayed on Messina Hof wine labels along with name of the artist and title of the piece as well as having the artwork permanently displayed in the Messina Hof Gallery among previous winners.

The 30th Annual Messina Hof Texas Artist Wine Label Competition is the centerpiece for the 36th Annual Wine & Roses Festival on Saturday, May 2, 2020. The philosopher Orison Swett Marden, once said “It is like the seed put in the soil – the more one sows, the greater the harvest.” In the sense of wine, the season of harvest is a time of bounty and a chance to experience the fruits of our labor. Each day we craft and toil alongside our fellow man, ultimately working to earn our keep all while remembering to count our blessings. When searching for inspiration, reflect on this and depict what a truly organic harvest looks like.

Join us at the Wine & Roses Festival and cast your vote!

The Top Finalists are applicants chosen to submit physical artwork for the competition and will receive:

• An invitation to display and sell artwork at the Wine & Roses Festival on May 2, 2020 at Messina Hof with a complimentary booth. Over 2,500 people are expected to be in attendance!
• An invitation to attend our VIP Reception on May 2, 2020.

The 1st place winner will receive:
• $1000
• Artwork displayed on Messina Hof wine labels along with name of the artist and title of the piece.
• Artwork permanently displayed in the Messina Hof Gallery among previous winners.
• Invitation to our Harvest Grand Finale Dinner in August 2020 where the winning artwork will be officially presented to the public.
• Social media recognition and online exposure via postings and mentions of artist name and artwork on all Messina Hof social media platforms.
• A certificate for a Private Tour & Tasting for 10 at Messina Hof Estate Winery in Bryan.

The 2nd place winner will receive:
• $250
• Social media recognition and online exposure via postings and mentions of Artist name and artwork on all Messina Hof social media platforms
• A certificate for a Private Tour & Tasting for 10 at Messina Hof Estate Winery in Bryan.

The 3rd place winner will receive:
• $100
• Social media recognition and online exposure via postings and mentions of Artist name and artwork on all Messina Hof social media platforms
• A certificate for a Private Tour & Tasting for 10 at Messina Hof Estate Winery in Bryan.

2018 Winner

Congratulations to the 2018 Wine Label Competition winner, Ray Kingsbury! His piece, Texas Highways, will make it's debut on a new Messina Hof wine label during their 2019 Spring Release Dinner & Wine & Roses Festival.
