The STARS are our premier volunteer group who look to help our community however they can! They work to assist our mission and support the community!

This holiday season we are promoting two collection events that will run from November 16th to December 22nd!

We will be collecting food for school food pantries, as an extension of our Empty Bowls Jr fundraiser, and art supplies to support Art from the Streets, a nonprofit which helps those who experience homelessness through art.

What are you Supporting?

Empty Bowls Jr.
Empty Bowls, Jr. began in 2013 as a way to directly support local in-school food pantries and The Arts Council programs. Students and art educators from more than 25 Brazos Valley schools have created hundreds of handmade, artistic bowls to donate for this event with the purpose of “kids helping kids.”

Individuals who donate $10 for a bowl will also receive a simple (and delicious) bowl of soup and bread, generously donated by participating Taste of B-CS members and local restaurants, as a reminder of all the empty bowls in our community. Together, we can end hunger in the Brazos Valley! So bring your family, friends, and neighbors to this amazing event that helps fund in-school food pantries.

Art from the Streets
Art From the Streets' mission is to provide a safe and encouraging environment in which the positive spirit and creativity for those experiencing homelessness are nurtured through their own artistic expression.

These artistic endeavors form a pathway to self-determination by means of the sense of achievement, social connections, and income generated through the pursuit of their art. Because focusing on housing alone does not achieve other equally important goals that are relevant and motivating to improving and sustaining a quality of life.

It's hard to tell that you are trying to say this: Our artists can't work from home. Due to current rules against gatherings, our studio is closed.
