Shark Tale

On Friday, May 27th the George Bush Museum and Library will be kicking off the Summer Film Series with the movie "Shark Tale". Bring your blankets and lawn chairs as we enjoy this film under the stars. Games and free refreshments (while supplies last) will begin at 7 p.m., and the movie will start just after sundown. You may bring your coolers, but please no pets or glass containers.

Monarch butterflies will fill the skies again on Saturday, June 26th at Wish Upon a Butterfly, an annual fundraiser at the Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History. This symbolic event highlights the elegant monarch, the Texas state insect.  This year, because of COVID-19 concerns, Wish Upon a Butterfly will be a drive-through event from 9 am -11 am. Visitors will drive to the Brazos Center Park Pavilion where Museum staff, dressed in butterfly attire to add to the fun, will hand out purchased butterflies to release at home!  Participants will also receive an activity/craft packet that they can enjoy with their families. Memorial Day is the time we, as a Nation, set aside to remember those who have fallen in service to our country. On May 25-29, the Museum of the American G.I. will be “Remembering the Fallen'' with special exhibits and displays. Visit the Vietnam Heroes Exhibit to see the 3,417 dog tags honoring all Texas Veterans who died or were missing in action in Vietnam. Learn about the Gold Star Aggies from WWI to Desert Storm.
