Navasota Artists In Residence

The Arts Council has partnered with the City of Navasota for an Artist In Residence program in the quaint community just 25 minutes south of College Station on Hwy 6. The Navasota Artists in Residence program gives three artists the opportunity to live and create art at the Horlock Art Gallery & History Museum. The house features living quarters, studio space, and gallery space, combining to create a unique experience and atmosphere for the artists.

We are accepting applications for the Spring 2019 residency through January 1st with the residency beginning February 15 and ending August 12, 2019. The Artists in Residence will have an opportunity to live and work in the historic Horlock Home in Navasota, Texas which includes living and studio space for each of the three participating artist as well as a retail gallery space. The City of Navasota provides amenities including internet, cable, electricity, retail space and live/work space free of charge to selected artists with the purpose of providing artists the opportunity to create and sell their work. Each artist will also receive a one-time $600 stipend at the beginning of the residency to assist with groceries, fuel, and supply purchases.
